Eutectics
Notes
Eutectics are well known oxide mixes that melt at very low temperatures. Many frits are identified as being a particular eutectic. By knowing critical mixtures of oxides that melt at the lowest possible temperatures you can:
-Optimize your formulation to possibly reduce flux content (thereby reducing thermal expansion)
-Reduce firing temperature (thereby reducing energy costs)
-Avoid formulations that sit on the edge of a eutectic that might exhibit variable melting behaviors
-Find formulations to create super-low melting behavior
