Dettol Preservative
Description: Anti bacterial, mold and virus agent
Notes
A liquid available at drug stores. It contains 5% chloroxylenol (C8H9ClO), an aromatic and poisonous chemical (the remainder is pine oil, isopropanol, castor oil, soap and water). It is a potent antimicrobial against bacteria, mold and virus and should be added to glazes during the mixing process. We do not have a recommended amount, but it has a powerful odor, one that you will recognize from the hospital (they use it for cleaning). If your glaze smells like a hospital, then you likely put too much in!
